Joe Schino, one of our teachers in Canyons School District is a West Point graduate. He currently volunteers as the local Field Force representative responsible for Utah’s 3rd and 4th Congressional Districts. He assists the Admissions Department identify, advise, and, mentor highly qualified high school students, as well assist students in our communities learn about West Point & Army ROTC.
Mr. Schino is inviting anyone interested in learning more about West Point to the annual Academy Information Meeting(AIM). On March 5th, a West Point admissions representative will be in town to provide an information briefing to candidates in the state. This is an annual briefing and is regularly attended by representatives from both congressional and senatorial offices. The meeting is March 5th 11:00am at the West Valley Library.
MAJ Davis from West Point will provide a 30–45-minute info session discussing the admissions process, the 4-year West Point experience, and answer any questions. Additionally, several local alumni/Field Force Representatives(myself included) will attend and be available for questions after the briefing.

The Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) is a college program offered at more than 1,700 colleges and universities across the United States that prepares young adults to become officers in the U.S. Military. In exchange for a paid college education and a guaranteed post-college career, participants, or cadets, commit to serve in the Military after graduation. Selective Service
Registration with the Selective Services is the process by which the U.S. government collects names and addresses of men ages 18 through 25 to use in case a national emergency requires rapid expansion of the armed forces. Registering with Selective Service does not mean you are joining the military nor does it mean that you are signing up for the all-voluntary armed services. By registering, you remain eligible for jobs, federal student aid, state-based student aid in 31 states, federally-funded job training, and U.S. citizenship for immigrant men.
